Our Story
Hi, I’m Kayla — the owner and creator behind Miss Fit Boutique and Playful Creations Co. 🤍
I grew up in a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada, with a big love for arts & crafts, creativity, and children. As a kid, I was always making things, babysitting whenever I could, and dreaming of becoming a preschool teacher one day. Creating has always felt like home to me.
After college, I worked as an esthetician in a spa for several years, where I fell in love with health, wellness, and helping others feel good — inside and out. That passion led me to start Miss Fit Boutique in September 2016. What began as a fitness-inspired jewelry and accessories brand slowly evolved into something deeper.
Over time, Miss Fit Boutique grew into a collection of meaningful gifts and simple reminders — pieces designed to encourage, uplift, and celebrate both the good and the not-so-good moments. In 2018, I introduced Simple Reminders Jewelry, featuring minimalist necklaces paired with thoughtful message cards, created to spark connection and positivity through small but meaningful gestures.
Fast forward a few years, life brought new inspiration. I became a mom to two beautiful daughters, and my partner Nate and I relocated to Western Canada, settling in Camrose County, Alberta. As a stay-at-home, homeschooling mama, creativity took on a whole new meaning.
In October 2025, Playful Creations Co. was born out of my love for creating, learning through play, and sharing meaningful moments with my children. I fell in love with making sensory mixes, playdough, and small-world play setups, inspired by my daughters’ curiosity and my passion for different sensory textures. Sensory play became such a natural part of our homeschool days — hands-on, open-ended, imaginative, and joyful.
Playful Creations Co. is all about play with purpose — encouraging creativity, exploration, and learning through touch, color, and imagination. Each product is thoughtfully created to support open-ended play while bringing a little magic to everyday moments.
